Application and Reference sectors
The heating cabinets are necessary in production chains in which products, mixtures, raw matertials contained in 200 L drums (or other capacity) or 1000 L containers (or other capacity) are to be subjected to heating treatment to change the phase or viscosity or subjected to a melting process in order to be transferred for the next step of the process.
For over 30 years, AMARC heating cabinets have been installed and used in the chemicals, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, petrolchemical, blending, oil&gas sectors.

ATEX heating cabinet for 32 drums for the chemicals sector

ATEX horizontal heating cabinet for 8 drums for the petrochemicals sector

Vertical heating cabinet for 8 drums made of AISI304 stainless steel for the pharmaceutics sector

Construction
The heating cabinets consist of a welded steel frame to which the load-bearing walls are coupled, made of suitably assembled metal sheets and panels made of insulating and “absestos free” mineral wool.
The constructional policy achieves a double goal:
- Structural sturdiness. The cabinet is designed to resist stresses and undesirable impact for long periods during the loading and unloading operations.
For this purpose protective structures are provided on the internal walls on all the units to prevent impact caused by pallets.
The load-bearing structures, with shelves for housing the drums, are subjected to structural calculation. - Thermal Insulation. The structure is designed without thermal bridges and suitably insulated, thereby ensuring minimum dispersal, efficient heat exchange and resulting energy saving.
Operation
The heat transfer process mainly takes place by air convection.
A ventilation unit installed In the upper part of the cabinet sucks in air, directing it on the heating element or a heat exchanger supplied with fluid (hot water, saturated steam, diathermic oil) and is conveyed to a delivery duct which directs the heated air uniformly on the drums or containers, creating the turbulence necessary for optimum heat exchange.
The process is “controlled” by a digital temperature regulator installed inside the control panel and paired with a probe installed in a suitable position.

Standard drum heating cabinets
The definition of standard models proposed by AMARC is the final result of over 30 years of design, production and more than 1000 installations throughout the world.
The know how built up has made it possible to fully understand the needs of our customers and of the market in general.
An extensive range has been studied which allows a high degree of versatility of choice within a standardised offer!
The standard heating cabinets can be configured according to:
Explosion-proof protection (Atex) for gas
a. Internal and external cabinet not ATEX classified
b. Internal zone 1-gas or zone 2-gas, external zone not ATEX classified
c. ATEX classified internal and external cabinet (zone 1-gas)
Capabilities and Models
AMARC drum heating cabinets portfolio is composed by 22 models with regard of:
- Capacity,
- The loading method (one or more levels),
- The number of zones regulated independently,
- The resulting external geometry of the oven.
“Single Heating Zone” Cabinet
11 models are designed for standard heating cabinets with “single heating zone” (See Table below).
- They are the most in demand on the market,
- A loading capacity for 2 to 48 200 L drums, 1 to 12 1000 L IBC),
- A single temperature regulation zone.

The data in the Table are not to be considered as contractually binding. AMARC srl reserves the right to make modifications without prior notification:
1. The capacity measured in drums is alternative to the capacity measured in IBC. With the exception of 2 drums cabinet, the housing of all the other models has provision for a pallet station suitable for loading 4 200 L drums on 1200x1200mm chemical pallet or, alternatively, one 1000 L IBC.
2. The external dimensions indicated do not take into account: control panel, tanks, feet, roofs, or other optionals which depend on the configuration of the heating cabinet.
“Multiple Zone” heating cabinets
For customers who, with very heterogeneous production, need to plan heating cycles of different products at different temperatures, 11 models “Multiple Zone” heating cabinets are designed (see Table below).
They have a loading capacity of 4 to 48 200 L drums, from 1 to 12 1000 L IBC divided into two or more independent zones.
Advantages:
- Heating the different products contextually at different temperatures inside a single machine,
- A single control panel,
- Dimensions slightly greater with equal capacity as the “single zone”,
- Energy saving in case of partial load.
